Jamine has been a certified yoga instructor (Kripalu) since 1993. She lived at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Massachussetts, working in the Programs department and studying yoga from 1991 until 1994. At Kripalu, she led question and answer sessions and meditation sessions for guests as well as assisted in a number of programs. She has also visited India twice, once meeting Mother Teresa in Calcutta while she was traveling after graduating from McGill University and again, in 1994 when she studied yoga in Kayavarohan, a special site for the Kripalu yoga lineage.
After leaving Kripalu, she went down the road to Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in New York state where she worked as the Marketing Manager. Part of her duties at Omega also included leading weekly yoga classes during the summer season, and offering a variety of workshops to the staff. She left Omega in 1998, the year her daughter was born. After spending some time in South Africa, she arrived in Ottawa in 1999 and has been here ever since raising her daughter and teaching yoga.
Jamine has studied with such well-known teachers as Bikram Choudury, Beryl Bender Birch, Rajarshi Muni, Sam Dworkis, and many of the faculty while on the staff of Kripalu and Omega for over 7 years.
She is a recognized professional level teacher (500 level) and is a member of the yoga teacher training team at Rama Lotus. Jamine enjoys developing her own workshops on topics such as yoga, stress reduction, and goal setting, which she leads regularly at the Canadian Police College, as well as at Rama Lotus and Metta Massage & Yoga Clinic in Ottawa.
Her published articles include “I Can’t Do Yoga Because…,” “Recovery Yoga,” and “Yoga and Driving,” printed in Ottawa’s Tone Magazine. Hi Jamine
I was wondering if you knew anyone who could volunteer some time at Good Companions to teach seniors yoga.
If possible, could you contact me. Thanks
Hope you are well.
