The Best Moment of Your Life is Now |

David Deida says that in any moment we’re either expanding into love or retreating from it – we’re either opening or we’re closing. When I read that I was reminded of something that happened recently with my daughter that demonstrated that principle – and it also gives me a laugh…
A Pebble for Your Pocket There’s a story by the Buddhist monk, Thich Nat Hanh, in a collection for children (A Pebble for Your Pocket), that has a message that the best moment of your life is now, which is a common eastern teaching. After finishing the story I wanted to see if my daughter got it so I asked her, “honey, when’s the best moment of your life?” to which she replied, “now.” Then she waited a few seconds and said, “now.” Then a few breaths later she said, “and now!” We laughed. A few days later when she was upset about something I said, “when’s the best moment of your life?” and she replied, “never.” That still cracks me up.
