Tips for Bikram Yoga Students |

I have practiced Bikram Yoga on and off for over 10 years. I was living at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health when Bikram came to visit us and teach us. In fact, it was my job at the time to heat up our auditorium to his prescribed 105 F and find mirrors! We did manage to heat up the room without activating the building's air conditioning but it took a lot of work in advance. When Bikram came to teach, he lit up the place! Many of our group of 350 yogis and yoginis were hungry for a physical and steamy yoga experience! I have a deep respect for the practice and for the benefits that people have found in their lives. It is with this attitude that I share some tips that I have found to be lacking in a typical Bikram class that a student who wants to continue the practice but wants more information would appreciate. |
